EMP Project, USA - Seattle

Architects: FRANK O. GEHRY & Associates Inc.

Date : 1999

This creation from Frank O. Gehry and Associates is the recently opened Experience Music Project in Seattle, USA - the main feature of which is its unique coloured stainless steel cladding, brightly representing the hues of electric guitars.

From its DesignScape™ Collection of metal finishes the RIMEX Metals Group supplied the coloured stainless steel material on the project from its ColourTex® line of metal finishes. 45,000 square feet / 4,000 square metres of MIRROR Red coloured stainless steel has been supplied alongside 65,000 square feet / 6,000 square metres of GRANEX™ Gold coloured stainless steel; both of which have been formed into shingles of unique design.

RIMEX's ColourTex® product is an intricate process by which the surface layer of stainless steel is oxidized to one of 8 colours that are deeply vibrant and which, unlike other metal building products, react with exterior and interior environments and different lighting perspectives to provide stimulate.
